Counting Down to Your Wedding Day

As the clock ticks by and you get closer to your wedding day, there will certainly be a huge rush of emotions such as anxiousness and excitement that flow through your body. However, you will likely start to get feelings that slightly resemble fear and uncertainty, but it’s very important to keep in mind that these feelings are normal and are completely healthy. To help ease the tension and get you back into a happy mood, there are some great techniques that will help you count down to your wedding day in a relaxing manner. Though each bride or groom will find things that work best for them, these are a few ideas to help get you in the right mindset.

Communication

One of the best things you can do to ease your mind as your wedding draws closer is to keep an open line of communication with your partner. Nothing exacerbates negative emotions more than being cut off from the person you love and want to share your life with, so simply setting aside some time each day to spend with each other can be a huge relief. Try not to discuss your wedding or anything related to it for at least 20 minutes each day to get the best results. Sure, you’ll need to discuss wedding details on a regular basis as well to make sure everything is getting taken care of, but having some time that is just about you as a couple is equally important.

Make a Checklist

Another easy way to relieve the stress as you’re counting down to your wedding day is to create a checklist and timeline for everything you need to get done. Trying to remember every detail of your wedding can be incredibly stressful, so having a very robust and comprehensive roadmap put together can make life a lot easy in the long run. Make sure to include a lot of details down to the names of your vendors, the number of wedding sparklers you’ll need to buy, and the name of your wedding photographer. You’ll also want to make sure you have the dates for all of your vendor and photographer meeting on a calendar somewhere so you make all of your deadlines.

Spa Day or Getaway

Another great technique to calm yourself down before your big day is to treat yourself to a spa day or a weekend getaway. This can be done either independently or as a couple, the choice is really yours. Having a day or a weekend to let all your cares float away and completely remove yourself from the wedding planning process can be very relieving; especially as you countdown to the final moments before your big day. You probably want to keep it simple and not go too overboard with your getaway since your honeymoon is coming up, but letting yourself get out of your skin can be amazingly helpful.

Counting down to your wedding day can be either stressful of blissful, it all depends on how you handle it. By staying organized and treating yourself to some relaxing moments, you can make sure you go into your wedding with a great attitude and a cool head.
